Met The Arockalypse schreef de Finse shockrockband Lordi in 2006 geschiedenis. Het is het album waarmee de groep het Eurovisie Songfestival won dankzij de wereldhit 'Hard Rock Hallelujah'. Het succes van de single zorgde voor platina en gouden certificeringen in meerdere landen. Voor het album werkte de band samen met gastmuzikanten van prominente bands als Twisted Sister, Accept/U.D.O. en Kiss.

De muziek is een toegankelijke mix van hardrock en heavy metal, gekenmerkt door krachtige gitaarriffs en pakkende, anthem-achtige refreinen. De theatrale en op horror geïnspireerde stijl van de band is in elk nummer duidelijk hoorbaar.
